BAFANA BAFANA BEING COACHED BY 16 COACHES

Coaches get fired because they are not equipped to coach these young men to play soccer. In my opinion these coaches have the ability to coach these players enabling them to win the soccer world cup in 2010. What is happening is that theses poor coaches spend all their time getting their players ready in the end they all just wasted their time.

In recent news it has been said that the South African football association will or is expected to mention a new coach by Friday and the team once again says goodbye to Joel Santana. This is quite tragic news for the team as well as for South Africa I would think. In less than a year this team Bafana Bafana is suppose to perform at their best at the soccer world cup where they will play against the best of the best. To fire a coach at this crucial time is rather a very hash decision. Not only does this affect the players but it affects the entire South Africa.

South Africa football association claims that the coaches are doing the best or they are not good enough to turn the ‘rookies’ into ‘stars’. Maybe it is time that the football association realizes that the players are the problem not the coaches. I think Carlos Alberto Parreira was in the first place a good coach why they had let him go was ridiculous. He coached the winning team for many years.

It is madness firing each coach when Bafana Bafana does not perform they way we want them to. 16 coaches since the start of this team is crazy shouldn’t the football association look into that maybe that’s why they not performing. They need a stable coach one to stay with them for quite sometime, one that knows them personally not just the position they play. The problem with these players not performing is psychological they need some stability.

being honest about journalism school

In the article “Let’s be honest about J-school”, Patrick Thornton is quite straight forward in saying why one should or should not attend a journalism school and the reality of what J-school represents. He even goes as far by stating that not attend the journalism school if you are not ready to or not willing to work on the web (whether it be with codes, blogging etc.),or to do more with your hands then he frankly says that journalism isn’t for you.

The top ranked J-schools he mentions is the Columbia University, many of the great journalists came from the programme at this university. This university was sited to have the top programme in journalism, but this was true a decade or two ago. He says that it is not that he is criticizing this university but many of these graduates’ curriculums are outdated. He suggests the project-based studio 20 at New York University; here the students work on different projects with different skills each term. He also suggests the CUNY’s entrepreneurial program over Columbia’s outdated structure. Therefore, when attending a graduate journalism programme you would want to walk out the program fully equipped in that this program taught you how to start your own projects and to be entrepreneurial.

Patrick mentions the professors’ matter, which means that they the professors should be equipped in understanding the intersections of modern technology and journalism. The professors think ahead are not stagnated through globalisation therefore, NYU and CUNY are better off that Columbia.

A distinction between undergraduate and graduate school is made, this difference entails that at undergraduate journalism degree teaches you the minimum skills that teaches you how to write do research and report. The graduate degree on the other hand states that you already have a degree (not the undergraduate journalism degree) what this degree allows you to do is that if you still want to pursue your dream in journalism.

Lastly, he says that attending J-school makes no sense for connection and improving your writing skills. What he is saying is that you do not need J-school for connections because getting connections online is not really such a hard task. He says that writing skills is overrated reason being that in journalism reporting is the heart of journalism, not writing. His thought on returning to journalism school rather go back to improve and broaden your reporting skills because good journalism is about serving the audience in the way you speak (reporting).

Llewellyn Kriel according to him he is named, recognized and seen as this horrible person others refer to him as. The only reason why he is recognized as the names given to him is because of what he writes. What he does is expressing his freedom of speech through the stuff that he writes and through this he obviously offends many. Despite the fact that he expresses his opinions he is qualified in what he does. For he received 19 awards in Afrikaans English degrees, he worked on most papers in South Africa’s news. The papers he worked on were the rand daily and mail to sowetan.

freedom of speech versus censorship

Freedom of speech versus censorship, these two concepts when looking at them could confuse one. The acceptance and allowing the voices to be heard when a certain topic is been raised it can also be seen as being heard. This enhances the thought of where ones opinions are important and heard. However, this thought being freedom of speech is just a fairytale we all believe in. what is meant with the statement is that why construct the term freedom of speech if in the end we will be forced to be silent (censorship).

The conflict of these opposing two terms is brought into context when focusing on what is happening in Iran. Iran had their democratic presidential elections, through this certain rights have been violated, this was successful because the Iranian entire state is censored. Through the censorship of the Iranian state the people their felt a need to present their freedom of speech. Even through their acts were still not heard but instead they were punished because they went against the countries belief of being silent. Therefore, the ability of being able voice their opinions is being violated.

The incident of what happened to Dave Carroll, his guitar got smashed he was quite upset about it that he created three songs about what happened and posted it up on the internet. What he was trying to do was to voice his opinion he wanted freedom of speech even though the airline company was not happy about it at all. Through the comments about the three songs made it suggests that Dave should have rather been silent because it was his own fault that his guitar is smashed. A guitar belongs in a guitar case in fact it is his own fault. Why the defamation of character was necessary he would know.

Amanda Bonnen she used twitter to view her opinions but in a sense she still ended up defacing certain characters. What happened for this defamation to take place was that she stayed in an apartment that apparently is filled with molds. She then posted up on twitter the statement and she received comments. The comment she received then emphasized her freedom of speech through that she was not voicing her opinion alone.

Once your character has been, defaced people need to recover by making their name good again. Therefore this is done through lawsuits being carried out, apologies are done and event public announcements.

300 word introduction

To be honest I really didn't know how to blog or what blogging is. This just shows me how technology is vastly increasing since the internet has become such an important source of information in this current time we are living in. Firstly what is media, it can be described as getting certain information whether it is scandals, tragedies, etc. it is also presented in various forms such as the newspapers, radio, television, the internet as well which includes blogging. My reason why I would say that blogging is an important new form of media is that it is very interactive in some sense. Others could comment on your thoughts and opinions where the other media options lack this function. Another function that is quite evident is that the one creating his or her blog are allowed to be creative. Not limited creativity but one can create one’s own layout also different colors can be used to make your page a lot more interesting and eye-catching for your followers. Not that the other forms of media are not creative, but to me especially the newspaper they are only creative until a certain point. What I mean is that each newspaper has their own trademark, the own colors are used to recognize the type of newspaper. With the blogging experience creativity reaches another level. With blogging I also noticed that a lot of the writer’s opinions, points come through strongly. Because each individual has their own opinions blogging then suddenly becomes interesting. Interesting because it is here where it is not necessary to conform to what we read in the newspapers or see on television and even what we hear on the radio. For once it seems as if we as normal individuals not news readers or journalists we take the media in our own hands.
